DJ CULTURE
BigSexyLand: fun, informal rave-up, with a playlist of "populist futurism" (i.e. Acid, Electro, New Wave, Pop) under the banner "non-stop neurotic cabaret".
Club Motherf ucker: fantastic queer rock'n'roll night with Daughters Of The Kaos spinning an incongruous mix of feminist riot grrl and sexist metal, cool indie and girlpop classics.
Computer Blue: an "electro disko fantasy" with Kelly Fontayne and Kiki Zass spinning "hot Italo, glossy HiNRG and shoulderpad techno".
Electrogogo: electroclash night from Mark 'S Xpress' Moore, with top quality live acts.
Evol: Liverpool night where Ladytron's Daniel Hunt and Reuben Wu play "electro.punk.mutant.funk.garage.trash." at their very own bar, Korova (see below).
The Fan Club: excellent indie/new wave/synthpop night hosted by DJ Val, with live bands every time (past visitors have included The Libertines and The Darkness!). Includes links to Val's other residencies Airport, Lowlife, Guided Missile and Pottymouth.
Hanky Panky: ever-changing, ultra-creative cabaret soiree, with music and performance art from the multi-talented Xavior (Placebo keyboardist, ex-Dexdexter) and guests.
Glam-Ou-Rama: the internet home of SB's favourite other night Club Bohemia (where Kitten and Preston spin glam rock, electro and indie), and a whole online community hosting personal profiles, photo galleries and message boards.
IR London: online database of indie rock clubs and gigs in London.
Kashpoint: electro-based night from former Minty man Matthew Glamorre and friends, attracting a whole underground community of "over-dressed and under-fed upstarts" and flamboyant freaks, aiming to "redefine a dowdy & dying London".
Kinki: super-lavish, dressed-up party "where lust and glamour collide with rock & roll", from J and Vic Voltaire, with info on their various offshoot nights (inc Riot Fever and Death To The Disco).
Nag Nag Nag: legendary electroclash, synthpop and dark disco night from the extraordinary Jonny Slut and colleagues.
Popstarz: the original gay indie night, founded by the late great Simon Hobart (RIP), with 80s and chartpop floors, and an exuberant atmosphere.
The Purple Turtle: Stay Beautiful's current home! Also has branches in Reading and Oxford.
Razor Stiletto: a "chic electronique, rock-tastic, orgiastic, glitterati party" in Sheffield (the Stay Beautiful of the north?).
Suicide Ally: personal and DJ website of Stay Beautiful co-founder, with current DJ activities and an archive of setlists (including SB ones).
Synthetic Culture: three floors of electroclash, synthpop, industrial and rock from Caroline Vain and co.
Torture Garden: fantastic (and surprisingly friendly) fetish night, run by The Purple Turtle's Allen Pelling.
Transmission: DJ Jeff and guests play "loud guitar - electro - bootlegs and who knows what else..." (includes link to monthly free gig/club allnighter Kill All Hippies).
Trash: Erol Alkan's legendary Monday nighter, still ramming 700+ into The End on a 'school night' with his anything-goes mash-up of rockin' tunes and remixology, and occasional live bands (previous visitors include Peaches, Electric Six, Gonzales, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Relaxed Muscle).

WE ONLY WANNA GET DRUNK
Crobar: heavy metal bar off Charing Cross Road, usually full of gig-goers, bands and journalists, with a hard-rockin' jukebox.
The Devonshire Arms: Camden's longest-running goth and alternative pub, with DJs seven nights a week, and late nights on weekends.
The Dublin Castle: Camden's leading indie rock pub with backroom live venue, with a good jukebox and countless gigs from up-and-coming bands (and the occasional secret set from the likes of Blur and Madness).
Garlic And Shots: dark, semi-subterranean Soho bar/restaurant with an inspired garlic-based menu and shots-based tariff, popular with goths and rockers.
The Good Mixer: famous indie boozer in Camden Town, still popular with sceney types and tourists hunting for the spirit of Britpop.
Korova: cool new Liverpool bar/club, owned and run by Ladytron.
Nambucca: this indie pub is one of the few non-chav boozers in Holloway, and it's Simon's local.

FASHION (TURN TO THE LEFT!)
Black Rose: Goth/punk/rockabilly store in Stables Market. Fishnets, tutus, corsets, bright eyeshadows, Bettie Page shot glasses.
Breathless: expensive but spectacular PVC and fetish fashions, now moved from Camden to Kings Cross.
Cyberdog: the logo is a little too ubiquitous nowadays - a cybergoth Nike - but you'll still find some great stuff here.
Delta of Venus: "A sweetshop for grownups". Vintage dresses, vintage records, customised t-shirts and glamorous bric-a-brac.
Fairy Gothmother: corsets, ballgowns, lingerie and vamp-inspired fashions from the Camden-based boutique.
Flamin' Eight: the Kentish Town tattoo parlour where Simon got his upper arm Prince symbol done.
Gobbolino: Fairy wings, cyber locks, fluffy legwarmers, tutus, red riding hood capes, french maid skirts and other accessories for the stylish urban fairy.
Pepi's: The super-talented cyber hair stylists in Camden Town, responsible for our Simon's spectacular 'dos.

The London Suede: for people who can't quite bring themselves to accept The Tears.

Heike Schneider-Matzigkeit: Beautiful photography site from Heike, an SB regular. Features pictures of bands such as Queen Adreena and Rachel Stamp among other things.
Rattail.Net: Jim Rattail is a living legend, the fly-on-the-wall photographer with the distinctive hairstyle who documents London nightlife using a discreet hip-mounted camera. Expect low-angle pictures of yourself, which you didn't even know had been taken. Especially if you're an attractive female...
